Quick Save
The Quick Save plugin's three nodes, which write the running game to one reserved save slot, load it back, and ask whether it exists.
The Quick Save plugin adds a one-slot quick save and quick read, the pair a quick menu offers. It ships enabled. In the palette its three nodes sit in the Game category, beside the core save nodes.
The quick save slot
- One slot. All three nodes work on the save whose id is
narraleaf.quick-save.slot. EveryQuick Saveoverwrites it, so a player has one quick save at a time. - An ordinary save. The quick save sits in the project's save store and is written the way
Save Gamewrites a save, with no picture and no metadata.Get Save Previewreturnsnullfor it, and declared save fields read their default values. - Kept off the player's save list. The plugin reserves the slot (see
reservedSaveIds), soList Savesleaves the quick save out, and so do every save or load screen built on it and the Dev Mode saves panel.Load Save,Delete Saveand the save readers still accept the id like any other. - Loaded like any save.
Quick Readloads through the same path asLoad Save, including the project's Older saves setting. - Kept with the player's data. Dev Mode and Preview keep separate save stores, and Reset player data clears the quick save with the other saves.
Conventions
- All three are
Latent. None can back a Blueprint Value. - Offered to Story Action blueprints. Unlike the core save nodes, all three appear in the palette of a blueprint that a story row calls.

Quick Save
narraleaf.quick-save.save · Latent
Writes the running game to the quick save slot, replacing whatever was there. Like Save Game, it fails when no game session is active.

Quick Read
narraleaf.quick-save.load · Latent
Loads the quick save and abandons the current progress for it, as Load Save does.

There is no next: a load that succeeds replaces the running game, so nothing of this graph is left to continue.
With no quick save, or one the Older saves setting declines, the running game stays as it was and the player sees the game's notice that the save could not be loaded. The node then fails with an error naming the slot. Check Has Quick Save before Quick Read to handle the case where there is no quick save.
Has Quick Save
narraleaf.quick-save.has · Latent
Whether the quick save slot holds a save. It reads the save store and needs no game in progress, so a title screen can use it to disable a quick read button.

It answers whether the slot exists. A quick save the Older saves setting declines still gives true, and Quick Read then refuses it.
